How to know what is best - wooden or metal?
We have a very varied selection of stands here at Simply Hammocks. From small scale metal stands to the more lavish and larger wooden structures, there is something for everyone! Here is where we will help you decide which is best suited to you by explaining a number of features that you will find with particular models.
We shall start with our metal stand collection. We currently have eleven metal stands that can endure use indoors and/or outdoors since they are powder-coated steel which enables such a frame to withstand a harsh climate outside. They are easy to assemble and adjustable to you desired height; check our description when looking so you know what capacity limit is, but the majority range from 120kgs-150kgs. We advise that our metal hanging chair stands should be brought inside if the weather takes a turn, but sunny days are perfect!
As for our wooden stands, the wood used varies between larch wood and spruce wood – both very similar in quality and durability and all treated for use outdoors. Our wooden stands blend into nature perfectly, their elegance and stature make them a real eye-catching piece in your garden. Capacity again varies but anything between 150kgs and 200kgs definitely does not restrict. Our wooden stands such as our Arcus enables any size hammock to fit due to the subtle chains already attached. Our wooden stands are more heavy duty but still extremely easy to assemble – using natural materials makes this structure fit effortlessly in your garden.
At the end of the day, it’s all down to customer preference; some of you may want a stand that is easier to manoeuvre around and take inside if needs be and that is where we would advise you to go for our metal stands…if you want a more long-term feature for your garden that blends in with nature, we would guide you towards our wooden stands; both materials are just as good but it’s all down to you!
